iPhone 8 vs. iPhone 7 vs. iPhone 6S

18 Oct 2022

When you are looking for a budget smartphone with decent specs, the iPhone 6S, iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 are the best options available in the market. From a design perspective, every model has significant improvements. In fact, only the Lighting port, and the top and bottom bezels remain the same. Unsurprisingly, the iPhone 8 is the largest and heaviest of them all. It’s nearly 15% heavier than the iPhone 6S. While Apple has stopped selling these older iPhones, they are still available as refurbished models at Mobile Guru.

The iPhone 7 controversially removed the headphone jack and added IP67 dust and water resistance. The iPhone 8 kept these changes, though it added some weight by moving to a heavier and more fragile glass back to enable wireless charging. The iPhone 6S delivered a 70% faster CPU and 90% faster GPU than the iPhone 6. The iPhone 7 has its CPU boosted by 40% and GPU by 50% over the iPhone 6S. Ultimately, the iPhone 8 offers a 25% faster CPU and 30% faster CPU than the iPhone 7.

While the iPhone 6S, iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 all look very similar at first glance, they have had significant changes. Unfortunately, performance aside, there haven't been more incremental improvements to their design, cameras and battery life compared with the competition. To put it into perspective, the iPhone 6S was an industry leader at its launch, unlike the iPhone 8.

These 4.7-inch models remain the best compact smartphones on the market. This may be due to a lack of competition, but if you want a competent and affordable premium smartphone, these are the best. We have a huge collection of refurbished iPhone 6S, 7 and 8 at Mobile Guru. So what are you waiting for?
