No, it’s not waterproof. However, it is water resistant. As it is rated IP68, that means the device can be waterproof for up to 6 meters underwater for 30 minutes. Though it may survive heavy rain, it’s not recommended to take your device swimming. According to Apple, this resistance is not permanent and may decrease over time.
